一、such that 的用法
用法：表示「如此…以致於」
- such 修飾名詞
- that 引導結果狀語從句
- 強調程度導致結果
結構：
such + (a/an) + 形容詞 + 名詞 + that + 結果句
例句：
It was such a difficult test that I failed.
- 翻譯：這是如此困難的考試，以致於我不及格。
- such 修飾名詞 “test”
He told such funny jokes that everyone laughed.
- 翻譯：他講的笑話如此搞笑，以致於每個人都笑了。
- such 修飾名詞 “jokes”
They are such good friends that they share everything.
- 翻譯：他們是如此好的朋友，以致於什麼都分享。
- such 修飾名詞 “friends”
二、so that 的用法
有兩個完全不同的意思：
用法1：目的（以便）
主句 + so that + 目的句（常有情態動詞）
例句：
- I study hard so that I can pass the exam.
- 翻譯：我努力學習以便能通過考試。
- 表達目的
用法2：結果（結果是）
主句, + so that + 結果句
例句：
- He didn’t study, so that he failed the exam.
- 翻譯：他沒學習，結果考試不及格。
- 表達結果（但較少用）
三、核心區別

四、⚠️ 為什麼不能互換？
例子1：
✅ such that（正確）
- It was such a good movie that I watched it twice.
- （這電影如此好，以致於我看了兩次。）
- such 修飾名詞 “movie”
❌ so that（錯誤）
It was so that a good movie I watched it twice.- 語法完全錯誤！
✅ 如果要用 so…that：
- The movie was so good that I watched it twice.
- so 修飾形容詞 “good”（不是名詞）
例子2：
✅ so that（目的）
- I’m saving money so that I can buy a car.
- （我在存錢以便能買車。）
- 表達目的
❌ such that（不適用）
I’m saving money such that I can buy a car.- 完全不符合 such that 的用法
例子3：
✅ such that
- He has such bad eyesight that he needs glasses.
- （他視力如此差，以致於需要戴眼鏡。）
- such 修飾名詞 “eyesight”
❌ so that（表示目的，意思完全不同）
- He has bad eyesight so that he needs glasses.
- 語法上勉強可以，但意思變成「他有壞視力是為了需要眼鏡」？
- 邏輯不通！
五、什麼時候可能混淆？
只有在表示「程度→結果」時，可以用：
- such…that（修飾名詞）
- so…that（修飾形容詞/副詞）
但不能用 so that！
例子：

表示「程度→結果」時：
1️⃣ such + 名詞 + that
- He made such a big mistake that he got fired.
- （他犯了如此大的錯誤，以致於被炒了。）
2️⃣ so + 形容詞/副詞 + that
- His mistake was so big that he got fired.
- （他的錯誤如此大，以致於被炒了。）
3️⃣ so that（表示目的/結果）
- 目的：He worked carefully so that he wouldn’t make mistakes.
- （他小心工作以免犯錯。）
- 結果：He didn’t work carefully, so that he made mistakes.
- （他工作不小心，結果犯了錯。）← 較少用，更常說 “so he made mistakes”
七、✅ 正確用法總結
such that 只有一個用法：
such + (a/an) + 形容詞 + 名詞 + that + 結果
= 如此…的(名詞)以致於…
so that 有兩個用法：
目的：動詞 + so that + can/could/will/would…
= 為了、以便結果：句子, so that + 結果句
